Katie Emma Griffin

My Grandmother Katie Emma Griffin was born 29 Jun 1883 in Gordon, Palo Pinto, Texas.  Her mother died 18 Sep 1889 when Katie was 6 years old.  Her father Newell Willard Griffin married Lettice Ann Mayes 1892 when Katie was 9 years old.  Katie and Lettie did not get along.  Katie left to marry Robert when she was 16 years old.  Two years later Newell was granted a divorce from Lettie.  The grounds were cruelty.  Mrs. Griffin cussed her husband and threatened to cut out the hearts of the children.
