John Jr & Mary McLean Loose Three Sons to the Civil War

My great great grand parents, John Jr and Mary C McLean lost three sons to the Civil War.  Quincy A McLean, Julius H McLean and Marcus L McLean lost their three brothers; Joseph A, John Rodney and Ephraim T McLean.

Joseph, John and Ephraim all joined the North Carolina 7th Regiment Infantry Company I in 1862.

The above shows Joseph A McLean "mustering out"

This one shows him 'dyeing'

The above shows John Rodney 'mustering out', ie. dyeing.

This shows Ephraim dyeing.

This chart shows which battles the three McLean brothers fought in and takes a guess at where they were wounded or killed.

The above map shows the location of battles and hospitals.

After researching this Civil War history of my three great great uncles I realize that we are very fortunate to know as much as we do about these men.  In some battles, 90% of the dead were unknown.  At least we know when each enlisted and died and can surmise which battles they fought in.
